Opening the Ride Screen
- Tap an event on your dashboard or in a carpool
The ride screen opens with two tabs:
- To (green) — rides to the event
- From (blue) — rides home from the event
The Riders row shows everyone riding. A green check means they're riding that direction; a crossed-out avatar means they're not.
Adding a Rider
- In the Riders row, tap the + tile
- Pick an existing rider from the list, or tap Add Rider to create a new one
- New riders are added to the carpool and ride by default — no extra step needed
Tip: Tap any rider's avatar to open that rider's card already expanded, so you can adjust their settings right away.
Setting Pickup and Drop-off Locations
Pickup and drop-off are set separately on each tab:
- Pickup → set it on the To tab ("Select Pickup Location")
- Drop-off → set it on the From tab ("Select Drop-off Location")
To set one:
- Open the tab for the direction you want (To or From)
- Tap the rider's avatar to expand their card
- Tap the location dropdown and choose where they should be picked up or dropped off
Pickup and drop-off are independent — changing one no longer changes the other.
No locations to choose from? You first need to add locations to your account or carpool. See How To: Create and Edit a Carpool for adding locations.
Choosing Which Car a Rider Is In
If more than one driver is driving a direction that day, each rider's card shows a Select Car for this Ride dropdown so you can put them with a specific driver.
- Expand the rider's card
- Tap Select Car for this Ride
- Pick a driver (drivers that are full are shown as "Full")
If there is only one driver for that direction, this dropdown is hidden — everyone simply rides with the only driver, so there's nothing to choose.
Skipping a Trip for One Rider
When a rider can't make it:
- Expand the rider's card
- Turn off the Can Ride? switch
- If the rider rides both directions, you'll be asked:
- Just This Trip — removes them from only the current direction (To or From)
- Both Trips (To & From) — removes them from both
- Cancel — leave everything as-is
If the rider only rides one direction, the switch turns off immediately with no prompt.
To bring them back, simply turn Can Ride? back on.
Skipping a Whole Day or Managing Many Riders at Once
For bulk changes or skipping an entire occurrence, use the Ride Organizer :
- On the ride screen, tap the ⋮ menu → Ride Organizer
Find the day's card. From its ⋮ menu you can:
- Edit Riders — pick To and From riders in one place
- Skip This Day — cancel the whole event for that date (optionally add a reason)
Use Restore This Day later to bring a skipped day back
Tips
- Riders ride by default once added — you only act when someone can't ride.
- Set a rider's pickup/drop-off once and it carries forward to future trips.
- A red seat count on a driver means their car is full or over capacity — move a rider to another car or skip a trip.
