Your account belongs to the email address you signed in with.
Signing in with a different email opens a second, empty account, without your data or your subscription.
Here's how to find the email you used and get back to your original account.
Which email did I use?
- You signed in with your email: search your inbox for the 6-digit sign-in code we sent you.
- You signed in with Apple: on your iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Sign in with Apple, and select the app.
It shows the email the app got.
If it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com, you chose Hide My Email.
- You signed in with Google: it is the Gmail or Google address you chose.
- Still signed in on another phone? Open your account in the app there to see the email.
How to get back to your original account
- Sign out of the account you are in now.
- Tap Sign In.
- Sign in with the email of your original account.
Any way works, as long as the email is the same:
- Sign in with Apple (iPhone and iPad only), if that's how you signed in before.
- Sign in with Google, if the email is your Google address.
- Your name and the email, then Continue and the 6-digit code we email you.
- Check that your data and subscription are back.
If the app says This isn't the account you used before, tap Use that account.
Going forward
- Always sign in with the same email.
- With Sign in with Apple, don't choose Hide My Email if your account uses your own email.
What happens to the other account?
The other account stays as it is and does not change your original account.
Anything you added while signed in to it stays in that account.
Troubleshooting
- No code in your email: check your spam or junk folder, wait a minute, then tap Resend.
- The code doesn't work: only the newest code works.
Use the newest email, or tap Start Over and try again.
- Still can't get in: open Help in the app and tap Contact us.
Tell us the email of your original account, or the emails you might have used.
